Cranberry Tea infused with Cinnamon and Cloves

If you haven’t made homemade tea before, let this recipe be your first. The flavors of this tea are wonderful. An aroma of cinnamon and cloves permeate the kitchen and the color from the cranberries give off a beautiful ruby red. Cranberries are quite tart, so feel free to add more honey or sugar if you like it sweeter.

Smoked Paprika Octopus with Crispy Potato Cubes

Everyone loves tapas and they’re also one of my favorites. I love the variety of little things to choose from and the communal sharing aspect that usually is part of eating tapas. A classic ingredient in Spanish tapas is octopus – or pulpo in Spanish. And keeping this dish as simple as possible, I’ve decided to use canned octopus seasoned with smoked paprika, or pimenton, a spice commonly used in tapas dishes.

Creamy Butternut Squash Soup – Blended with Carrots and Potatoes

Butternut squash is in season and soup is a great way to take advantage of this super healthy vegetable. A type of winter squash, butternut squash is rich in fiber and is an excellent source of vitamin A and E. I added some carrots and potatoes pureed in a blender making this soup very creamy with a beautiful orange hue. It’s a perfect dish to ring in the autumn season and to keep you warm on a chilly night!
