My last green smoothie post with romaine and coconut milk, was about 2 months ago so I think it’s about time for a new recipe. This green smoothie is refreshing and best enjoyed cold, perfect for the warmer weather. Swiss chard is the main ingredient and you can use any kind of chard, the taste should make no difference. Half of a fresh lime goes into this recipe, including the peel, so finely chop it if you don’t have a powerful blender. The flavor is bright and tangy from the lime, yet very smooth and creamy from the bananas. This particular smoothie is great for the adventurous type and a definite must try for green smoothie lovers!

Strawberry Cashew Green Smoothie with Romaine and Coconut Milk
This green smoothie recipe is adapted from Victoria Boutenko’s book Green Smoothie Revolution. Combining romaine lettuce, strawberries, along with cashew nuts and coconut milk, this has to be my heartiest and creamiest smoothies yet! I typically make it in the morning if I don’t have time to prepare a proper breakfast because it’s so filling. But whatever time you enjoy it, you’ll be full for several hours.

Red Berry Celery Smoothie – The Perfect Gift to Your Loved One (And to Yourself)
Celery smoothies are among my husband’s favorite green smoothies. So to celebrate Valentine’s Day, I decided to make him a “green smoothie” that goes well with this holiday! One of my earliest green smoothie posts was a blueberry celery smoothie that is similar and equally delicious. Share this smoothie with your special someone.
Lacinato Kale Green Smoothie with Mango and Orange
[This post is part of my Green Smoothie series]
Kale, one of the healthiest greens out there is perfect to use in a smoothie. I typically use curly kale but this time I blended Lacinato or Tuscan kale, of the dinosaur kale variety. A little history lesson: Lacinato kale, enjoyed by the Romans, has been grown in Italy for centuries and is used in much of Italian cuisine. The taste is also a bit milder and sweeter than curly kale, perfect for a morning green smoothie!
Spinach Banana Smoothie – A Super Easy & Delicious Green Smoothie
My first green smoothie recipe of the new year is one of the most basic smoothies out there. All you need is two ingredients, spinach and bananas. Spinach is a wonderful green to use if you’re new to green smoothies. You can mix almost any kind of fruit with it because of it’s mild flavor and versatility.
Festive Romaine and Apple Green Smoothie with Cinnamon
[This post is part of my Green Smoothie series]
Ever heard of a green smoothie with cinnamon? No, neither have I! In order to keep up with the festive theme of the last few weeks, I’ve tried to come up with a “holiday green smoothie”. It turned out to be a refreshing mix of apples, banana, cinnamon and romaine lettuce. You hardly notice the romaine lettuce, the smoothie tastes more like applesauce, but an applesauce you can drink! It’s smooth and creamy with a hint of cinnamon, the perfect flavor during the holidays.
