In my previous post I baked some turkey meatballs as a nice appetizer idea for Super Bowl Sunday and they were so good my husband wanted more! This time I used the same recipe but with ground pork and a nice side of Swedish meatball sauce to go with it.
Beer is a great addition to stews. It’s a simple way to create a great sauce without adding too many other ingredients. I used a lager beer but feel free to use any kind. The stew is cooked on low heat so make sure you’re home long enough to check up on it!
Today I really felt like making a meat dish. The weather is getting colder, perfect for some comforting pork chops! I used organic, pasture raised bone-in pork chops and left some of the fat around the edges (trim if desired) for more flavor. Serving this on a bed of mushrooms and arugula (or other greens like spinach, kale) make for a healthy side dish.
I’m not sure if it’s the heat right now, but I’m really looking forward to fall. I love all the comfort foods during fall season. Last night I decided to create a dish of just that…but in August! And, even better, you can mix and bake it all in one dish making this an easy dinner.
