Ever heard of a green smoothie with cinnamon? No, neither have I! In order to keep up with the festive theme of the last few weeks, I’ve tried to come up with a “holiday green smoothie”. It turned out to be a refreshing mix of apples, banana, cinnamon and romaine lettuce. You hardly notice the romaine lettuce, the smoothie tastes more like applesauce, but an applesauce you can drink! It’s smooth and creamy with a hint of cinnamon, the perfect flavor during the holidays.

Can you replace the lettuce with spinach?
Barb says
Hi Ally – I have never tried this recipe with spinach but I think it would taste just fine instead of lettuce. Let me know how it turns out!

Just whipped up a batch…delicious. You could even add a pinch more cinnamon if you like. (Confession – this is my FIRST EVER green smoothie and I plan on making them more often, hopefully everyday!)This will be added of my Green Smoothie Recipe Notebook! Thank you!

So good! Not all lettuce smoothies taste good to me. They’re sometimes too bitter, but the bananas sweeten it up nicely. Thanks!
