The past few days have been brutally hot here in New York and when it gets this way, my appetite isn’t quite the same. I usually like a big hearty breakfast, but now with the hot weather I just want to have refreshing drinks. So for breakfast today I made a blend of raspberries, bananas and coconut milk with a hint of rosewater. It’s delicious and light, yet enough to fill you up!

Hi! I love this recipe and I want to make it at home, but I have a little problem: I’m spanish and I don’t know if the “rosewater” is actually cosmetic rosewater, some specific for-cooking rosewater or the so-called (in spanish) “agua de azahar”, also used for cooking. I tried googling but it wasn’t very clear.
Thank you!

Hi Sal, thanks for the comment! I’m not too familiar with the rosewater you’re referring, I get mine at the specialty grocery store. I think the Spanish version you’d be looking for is “Agua de Rosa”. Good luck finding it and let me know how it turns out.

Thank you for the quick response!I was looking, in fact, for “agua de rosas”, only that the cooking variety of rosewater is pretty much unknown and impossible to get phisically here in Spain. After a muddling search and pestering in a pair of shops xD, I could confirm that the thing existed and got a pair of bottles on an internet shop.
Oh, and I also found the English name of the “agua de azahar” I mentioned is orange flower water. And has nothing to do with actual rosewater ^_^” I was just confused.
Thanks for all! You have an really useful and amazing website 😉

Thank you so much for the nice words about my site! 🙂
And glad you were able to solve this problem. Definitely let me know what you end up making with the rose water. One of my favorite uses besides the smoothie above is actually Persian ice cream with saffron and pistachios. You can use store bought vanilla ice cream and mix in rose water and crushed pistachios. I might put up a recipe soon 🙂
