My first green smoothie recipe of the new year is one of the most basic smoothies out there. All you need is two ingredients, spinach and bananas. Spinach is a wonderful green to use if you’re new to green smoothies. You can mix almost any kind of fruit with it because of it’s mild flavor and versatility.
I love adding frozen bananas, I always store a few chunks in the freezer for smoothies like my goji berry smoothie. They pair perfectly with the spinach. Together they blend easily resulting in a smooth and creamy consistency. If you drink this in the morning it’ll give you a boost of energy and is also filling so will help with hunger cravings. Hopefully this smoothie will encourage you to start your year off to a healthy new beginning!
Spinach Banana Smoothie Recipe
In a blender, preferably a powerful one like Blendtec, combine spinach, frozen bananas, water and ice. Blend on the highest speed until smooth and creamy.
Total time: 5 minutes
Yield: 3-4 cups
