Orange and Banana Green Smoothie with Curly Parsley

[This post is part of my Green Smoothie series]

I rarely use curly parsley for cooking, I typically prefer flat-leaf. But when I went to the store today I thought why not try it in a green smoothie? The smoothie turned out quite refreshing and delicious. Parsley has a distinct flavor and is great when combined with sweet citrus fruits. You’ll definitely want to try this one out!

I used a juicy valencia orange and a sweet ripe banana along with water and ice. This is one of my favorite green smoothies to drink in the morning. It comes out creamy and bright green, a perfect start to your day.

Place chopped orange and banana into the blender, then the chopped curly parsley. Add water and ice and blend.

        Marbeth,

How is the texture of the protein powder you use? I’ve been looking for an alternative to whey since I gave up dairy and so far I haven’t found anything palatable.

Try this one, you will love it! It is a very fine powder. I use my Blendtec to grind this mixture but all told, it is delicious. I am feeling better since I’m not doing dairy myself. Also have reduce my animal protein to minimal. I’m going to try a few days of this green drink soley.

Let me know if you like it. I buy the Rainbow Light and Carlson’s fish oil at Vitamin Discount Center–there price is much better than other places.
