Meyer Lemonade sweetened with Maple Syrup

MeyerLemonadeSpring – I mean summer – is finally here in NYC! We’ve had a little heat wave here after a brutally cold March, so naturally, I decided to make lemonade. To mix things up I used Meyer lemons. A cross between traditional lemons and mandarin oranges, Meyer lemons are less acidic, juicy and just plain delicious. They are perfect for my first “summer lemonade”. Some other recipes I use Meyer lemons in are cocktails, salad dressings, roast chicken recipes or in desserts that would call for regular lemons.

Apple Bourbon Cocktail with Ginger Syrup

Apple Bourbon CocktailI haven’t posted a cocktail recipe since the summer. But lately, I’ve been making more cocktails, especially seasonally inspired ones. Our latest favorite has been this delicious apple Bourbon concoction. We adapted the recipe for this fall drink from our friends at Julibox, who launched a brilliant online business selling monthly cocktail ingredient kits, similar to our side business GrubKit. This drink is perfect during your Thanksgiving festivities. Enjoy and have a wonderful holiday!

Grilled Peach Cocktail

Grilled Peach CocktailWine has been my drink of choice for a long time, then with our move to NYC came beer and we couldn’t keep our hands off the many exciting and delicious craft brews available these days. Summer Sangria with Orange Curacao

Summer SangriaI absolutely love a cold glass of sangria during the summer. Last year I posted a traditional Spanish sangria recipe and this time I wanted to change it up a bit. And remember when serving, make sure to put ice in your glasses first and not into your pitcher.

Raspberry Banana Smoothie with Coconut Milk and Rosewater

Raspberry Banana Smoothie with RosewaterThe past few days have been brutally hot here in New York and when it gets this way, my appetite isn’t quite the same. Sparkling Raspberry – An Easy and Refreshing Summer Drink

Sparkling Raspberry DrinkIf you’re wondering why I haven’t posted in a while, it was because my husband and I spontaneously took a trip up to Montréal for a few days! I suggest you go visit soon if you haven’t yet. It’s a beautiful city with friendly people and an amazing food and beer culture. I feel stuffed just thinking about all the food we ate (and beer we drank). When we got home, all I wanted to do was drink water! With that said, here is an easy and refreshing drink using fresh raspberries. The perfect drink to start Summer.
